A full morning dedicated to water. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the crystal-clear headwaters of the Tirino River, where you can paddle (or be led in a canoe handled by others) along this stretch of river park with Coop Il Bosso.<\/p>

Not far away is the Capodacqua Reservoir, where a small village was submerged in the 1950s, now visible thanks to Calypso Capodacqua’s glass-bottomed electric boats.<\/p>

In the interval between and after the two activities, you can enjoy the riverside and lakeside in relaxation.<\/p>

For lunch you can, right by the river, choose the pool restaurant (and perhaps continue that way for the afternoon) or go to Capestrano, taking the opportunity to visit this beautiful town with its castle and other important buildings. The area also offers several wineries for tastings of excellent wine. <\/p>

Capodacqua Reservoir is an artificial reservoir created by a hydroelectric dam in the 1950s, which submerged a small hamlet with a few houses and a mill. Because the reservoir is at the spring, the water is crystal clear and offers fairy-tale views. It is possible to take a tour on glass-bottomed electric boats to enjoy the spectacle. <\/p>

For the more athletic, and in possession of a diving license (OPEN or higher) guided dives are possible on Saturdays and Sundays.<\/p>

The springs and the first stretch of the Tirino River, one of the clearest and cleanest in Europe, are total reserve, which can be visited in a controlled manner. We recommend Coop Il Bosso, which organizes visits by canoe or kayak. <\/p>

Before and after it is possible to stop in the area, eat at the nearby pool restaurant, or visit the not far away Romanesque church of St. Peter ad Oratorium. Also nearby are some famous wineries: INALTO and Cataldi Madonna. <\/p>

Also worth visiting is the nearby village of Capestrano, with a beautiful castle overlooking the square, beautiful buildings and views, an interesting gallery of contemporary art, an oil museum, and some restaurants and bars.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  1. The Capestrano basin is called “the oven of Abruzzo” because of its consistently higher than average temperatures in the region<\/li>
  2. If you continue past Capodacqua, you pass through Bussi you can visit the old village (the “modern” area is a testimony to the disasters of 20th century industrialization). Watch out for the speed camera, there are 60! <\/li>
  3. At Bussi you can take the A25 to the Maiella and the sea, or veer toward Popoli and Sulmona<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
