In about 15 minutes by car, from Caporciano you reach Capestrano, a town with important monuments.

In Capestrano interesting is the Piccolomini castle in the main square, the convent of San Giovanni, the beautiful Romanesque abbey of San Pietro ad Oratorium, and beautiful buildings that can be appreciated among the narrow streets of the village. Very interesting, if open, is the small but impressive Oil Museum.

Crossing the valley, near the springs of the Tirino River and Capodacqua Lake, which deserve a dedicated break, already described, we can climb and visit Ofena. Wanting to from Ofena a mountain road leads up to Rocca Calascio, but on this tour the idea is to stay in the Tirino valley.

We can at this point choose between two wineries, where we can buy and taste excellent wines accompanied by local products: Cataldi Madonna and Inalto.

Depending on the time you have available, you can go down to Bussi, a valuable ancient medieval town, best known today for the visible remains of the chemical insefices of the early 1900s, and go back up to the Navelli Plain after passing and visiting Popoli through the famous hairpin bends and visit the village of San Benedetto in Perillis, surrounded by very beautiful nature with a breathtaking view of the Tirino valley.

Or, to complete your food day, from Bussi you can drive to Tocco Casauria, the town of oil, wine and the famous Centerbe liqueur.
